Facilitating outdoor play should not be limited to ‘environmental specialists’ within the children’s workforce. Going outside and interacting with natural elements should be a regular and ongoing aspect of play provision for all children, and as such is the responsibility of everyone who works to support their play in a wide range of settings.

Playing with the Elements is a Level 3 training course, endorsed by SkillsActive, on enabling and supporting high quality, regular outdoor play opportunities for children, focussing on the natural elements of Earth, Fire, Water and Air. The course is designed for playworkers and others who work with children aged 4 – 16 years.
