Stay Safe consultation launche

Ed Balls Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families launched on Wednesday 20 July a consultation document called Stay Safe. Stay Safe is a government consultation into children's and young people's safety. Chapter three of the consultation focuses on the importance of play and managing risk. With this section, Helping all children and young people to stay safe one of the proposal area of work is to:

launching a new communication campaign to encourage parents to let their children play outside in safe environments and take part safely in positive activities.

Play England would like to put together a detailed and informed response to this consultation. To do this Play England would like people to feedback their initial thoughts on the document. This will be used to inform the first draft of our response. Once the first draft is written Play England will circulate it for wider comment and will also discuss our response to this document with the Children's Play Policy Forum and the Play Safety Forum.

Deadline for initial feedback to Play England is 13 August 2007 and a link to the consultation can be found below.
